Meet The Front Porch
Fifth-generation wine maker and songwriter Karl Wente regularly gets together with a group of Livermore friends and musicians to jam on his front porch. Good friends, good music, good wine… and The Front Porch evolves. The warm days and cool nights that are typical of the Livermore Valley provide a great atmosphere for evening rehearsals overlooking the vineyard – attracting some of The Valley’s most talented players.
The bittersweet vocals of Nashville songwriter Suzanna Spring, gritty voice of bluesman/songwriter Tim Miller, and electrifying violin phenom Jim Hurley create a unique frontline for a rhythm section led by guitarist Karl Wente, bassist Joe Kara and drummer Joe O’Laughlin. Johnny Williams (mandolin) and Dave Haberman (electric guitar) provide vocal harmonies and textures that augment the band’s rock/americana sound. Their debut album ‘Evermore‘ (summer 2012) – recorded at Nash Studios, by music guru/percussionist/producer Kenneth Nash is now available on iTunes.
The Front Porch uses a revolving door approach to playing and creating music – drawing on and embracing all the talent that lands on the porch. Musicians Dusty Boyle (bass/slide), Bobby Giddons (guitar/ukelele), James Chasia (viola), Mark Clarin (guitar /vocals) and Ray Wang (piano) all pick , sing and or play with The Front Porch…open up two of your favorite bottles of wine, sit back on the porch and enjoy.
Check out Evermore now on iTunes.
